Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) is a modern, evidence-based approach that blends the principles of Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) with the techniques of clinical hypnosis. It is a powerful and well-recognised method for addressing a wide range of psychological issues, supported by both clinical experience and emerging neuroscience research.
How is SFH different from other hypnotherapy?
In essence, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a more forward-looking and goal-oriented approach to hypnotherapy, while traditional hypnotherapy (and indeed other types of psychotherapy also) may be more focused on exploring the past and underlying causes of issues.
How It Works
Sessions blend talking therapy with deep relaxation (hypnosis). The first part of each session focuses on positive conversations that help you identify progress and solutions. The second part guides you into a relaxed, trance-like state—similar to daydreaming—where your mind becomes more open to positive suggestions and change.
Safe and Empowering
You're always in control. Hypnosis is not about being unconscious or manipulated—it's a collaborative and safe process. Many clients describe it as deeply calming and empowering.

The Science Behind It
SFH is rooted in neuroscience and draws from Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), cognitive behavioral techniques, and neuroplasticity research. Hypnosis is a natural, focused state of attention that helps reduce anxiety, lower stress levels, and build new patterns of thought.

Who Is It For?
SFH can be effective for a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, sleep difficulties, phobias, and more. It’s suitable for adults, teenagers, and children, and can be adapted for neurodivergent clients, such as those with ADHD or autism, thanks to its flexible and strengths-based approach.
